My Supplies: Wax Seals

Want to make your own wax seals?

Below I’ve listed out all my suppliers and information for where to buy the materials you need.

my supplies: wax seals

Wax Sticks: Artisaire

  • Why: I love their color offerings + their wax is flexible so it goes through the mail! Anyone that says wax stamps don’t go through the mail wrong.

Wax Stamps: Artisaire

  • They offer really great pre-made designs, or you can submit your own file and get your own made. I’ve had nothing but good experiences with them so I’ve honestly never tried anywhere else!

Glue Guns (for melting your wax)

  1. Artisaire: they have low heat guns that are optimal for melting the wax and not getting it too hot.

  2. Surebonder Dual Temp: This gun is really nice when you have a lot of wax seals to do. I’ll flip the temp over to hot just for a minute here and there, and it allows me to pour more wax in one go. I can pour 7-10 wax seals at once, VS. the low temp I can only do about 5. You just need to keep tabs on the temperature so it doesn’t get too hot and make your wax bubble.

Silicon Mat: Amazon

  • Why: This is what I use behind my wax (as seen here). It keeps your wax from touching/ruining the invitation. The silicon mat is much sturdier than parchment paper and works wayyy better. We just buy the mat from amazon and cut it into little squares.

String/Ribbon

  1. PaperPhine: you can find them on Etsy or I purchase it from Weaver House. I love how thin this string is!

  2. Silk Ribbon: You can find a lot of sellers on Etsy too, but I typically order from Tono & Co.

Adhesive Backing: Artisaire

  • Why: If you are making wax seals to add to menus, place cards, outer envelopes, etc., Pouring the wax directly on the paper can cause the paper to warp and do funny things. Instead, I make the wax seals directly on my silicon mat, then add adhesive backing to them to adhere to my item.

Flowers

  • You’ve probably seen our pressed flower wax seals. I typically have the best luck finding flowers like this at Trader Joes, Whole Foods, or Safeway

Flower Presses

  • I love cute little flower presses, like this one we bought on Etsy. However, you can also easily just press them between book pages, with some wax paper/parchment paper in between.
